BUSINESS

It is not an exaggeration to say that shoes reflect every aspect of a person—their identity, work style, and lifestyle—as the saying goes, ‘If you want to know someone, look at their shoes.’

Even if someone dresses well, they can lose their image instantly if the heels of their shoes are chipped or dirty.

For this reason, the feet significantly impact the impression one makes in the business world.

The more elite the businessmen are, the more everyone has their own preferences and philosophy when it comes to shoes, and they often have a favorite pair that they have been using for a long time.

However, that pair of shoes does not necessarily have to be a luxury brand.

Of course, buying high-quality shoes is always better, but the best approach is to regularly polish your important pair of shoes so you can use shoes that fit your feet well for a long time.

Once we become skilled at taking care of our shoes, our favorite pair will always look shiny and new.

Let’s have fun taking care of our shoes together.

First, prepare the equipment for polishing.

Devices such as shoe pushers or wipes can be used instead of household items. There are 3 things that need to be prepared first: 1. Stain remover lotion, 2. Boar hair shoe brush, and 3. Shoe polish.

Clean stains and nourish with cream

Use a cloth soaked in lotion to remove stains, and wipe the shoes all over until they are completely clean. Then, apply about three grains of rice-sized shoe cream onto your hand or a brush, and spread it thinly over the surface of each shoe (you can use a toothbrush instead) to restore shine and moisture to dry, stiff areas. Focus on brushing the raised parts, scratches, or dents.

Use a brush to scrub carefully to increase shine.

After letting it dry for about 3 minutes, use a stiff boar bristle brush to scrub the entire surface. This scrubbing generates heat from friction, which will melt the wax and restore the shine to the shoe’s surface.

Finish with a waterproof spray

Use a waterproof spray on areas other than the back of the foot and the heel. In addition to repelling water, the spray also prevents dirt from sticking to the shoe surface, and the effect lasts for about a month. You can use the spray not only after cleaning your shoes but also after buying a new pair.

Use cream in the same color as your shoes to cover scuffs or spots where the color has faded, and use colorless cream to nourish and give shine.
